Large breasts can lead to chronic pain, tension and poor posture, to name just a few of the physical consequences. Sometimes even more serious is the psychological component that arises in those affected, often precisely because they are reduced as a person to their breasts. In this case, a breast reduction may be the right choice to put an end to your suffering.

What is a breast reduction?

For breast reduction, also as mammary reduction denoted, removed Dr. Matiasek removes excess skin, fat and glandular tissue and thus forms a smaller breast. There are various surgical techniques that differ in the type of incision and the amount of breast tissue removed. What all breast reductions have in common is that you then have a smaller, newly formed breast and can thus remedy the physical or psychological suffering that preceded the breast reduction.

What are the reasons for a breast reduction?

There are many different reasons that can lead to people, be they women or men, wanting a breast reduction. Both physical and psychological factors are possible, which are often connected to each other.

Physical complaints

Especially large breasts can cause affected by their weight postural defects and strong back pain develop. These can concentrate on the neck and shoulder area or affect the entire back and become chronic due to the continuous overload. If the back muscles are not strong enough, it can even result in damage to the spine. The persistent overuse of the entire back and especially the shoulder and neck region can also lead to recurring headaches. Limited mobility is also possible. Especially when doing sports, problems can quickly arise that start with the choice of a suitable sports bra. Certain movement sequences or exercises can also be made more difficult by a particularly large chest circumference. Since large breasts hang more than small ones, various skin problems occur in the resulting skin fold. These include, on the one hand, eczema or fungal infections, which are aggravated by the formation of sweat, which is intensified by the spatial confinement and direct skin-to-skin contact. But stretch marks can also develop. Since the cause of the suffering in this case can be clearly identified, it is clear that the only sensible treatment that actually gets to the root of the problem is breast reduction in such cases.

Another physical indication for a breast reduction can be a strong one asymmetry be your two breasts. To a certain extent, it is normal for both breasts not to be exactly the same size and shape, but if the discrepancy becomes too great and the resulting distress too great, Dr. Matiasek can remedy this with a breast reduction.
In men, hormonal imbalances can promote breast growth, resulting in a particularly large breast that looks like a woman, which is also called gynecomastia referred to as. In this case, too, it is possible to solve the problem with a breast reduction.

mental ailments

In addition to the physical, there are also numerous psychological factors that can speak in favor of a breast reduction. A particularly large bust size can make those affected feel reduced to this aspect of their appearance and, as a result, try to hide it. This in turn suffers from this self-consciousness strong. The often chronic back pain caused by large breasts can also have a negative effect on the psyche and lead to serious problems at this point. It is important here that you realize that you can do something about the cause of your suffering and not be helpless at the mercy of the problems caused by your large breasts.

Who is suitable for a breast reduction?

Essentially, Dr. Matiasek does not perform the breast reduction if the breast is still growing or has not yet completely regressed after pregnancy or breastfeeding. Furthermore, some previous illnesses speak against the implementation of a breast reduction. Whether a breast reduction is possible in your specific case, Dr. Matiasek clarify with you in a personal consultation.

What breast reduction methods are there?

There are different ways to perform a breast reduction. In general, it is a surgical procedure in which Dr. Matiasek first removes skin, fat and glandular tissue, then reshapes the breast and in the course of this usually also moves the nipple a little. If desired, Dr. Matiasek the breast reduction also with one breast lift combine. As before, only one procedure is necessary, in which you not only get smaller but also firmer breasts.

The choice of surgical technique depends, among other things, on the amount of breast tissue to be removed. If possible, Dr. Matiasek puts on a so-called inner bra to make the result last longer. dr Matiasek has been an expert in various modern and proven surgical techniques for years, all of which are able to help you achieve a harmonious overall picture.

O-technology (Benelli)

The name of the O-Technique comes from the fact that with this type of breast reduction, the treating doctor only makes a circular incision around the nipple. The benefit of this is that post-procedure scarring is minimal. However, only relatively small amounts of breast tissue can be removed using the O-Technique, for example in combination with suction. At the same time, the method is excellently suited if the nipple or the areola are to be raised slightly.

I technique (Lejour)

As with the O-technique, the doctor treating you first makes a circular incision around the nipple with the I-technique. But then he continues the incision vertically down to the underbreast crease. This allows for the removal of a larger and overall moderate amount of breast tissue compared to the O technique. Scar formation is also limited here.

T-technology (Strömbeck)

With the T-Technique, Dr. Matiasek extends the incisions corresponding to the I-technique by a horizontal incision along the breast fold. The remaining breast tissue is kept in shape with the help of an "inner bra" and thus enables a long-lasting result. This, in turn, allows for the removal of larger amounts of breast tissue.

L technique

The L-technique is ultimately a further development of the T-technique. While the horizontal step in the T-technique is on both sides, i.e. T-shaped, in the L-technique, as the name suggests, it only runs on one side, so that the resulting scar has the shape of the letter L. With this surgical technique, Dr. Matiasek removes large amounts of breast tissue and allows for long-term stability through the "inner bra".

This is not only better for wound healing, but also more comfortable for you.

As for the care of the resulting wounds, Dr. Matiasek will give you specific tips and instructions after the operation.
